Karmen Patton (Faucett)

Ulysses Battle, Jr.

Many classmates probably don't know but Ulysses and I are/were first cousins! My mom and his dad (deceased) were brother & sister

We were very, very close! To our family he was affectionately known as "JB"

JB and I shared many good times together! He used to jokingly say "if it wasn't for Karm, I would still be in Germantown!" I used to stay on him about his class work and encouraged him to hang in there and graduate! JB was a talented and gifted painter. He assisted one of our uncles with his painting business and was employed by SEPTA as a painter.  JB was an awesome father to his sons Keenan and Miles (named after his then favorite singer; Miles J) a loyal son to his mother, a true big brother to his siblings and everything to his nephews. So many memories! One Hot, summer, Sunday after church, we (he, my sister Kim & I) went Water Ice Tasting! We started @ Tranzilly's on Haines & Belfield Street and ended up @ my all time favorite "Overbrook Water Ice". Boy! did we have a ball that day! I remember us going to SIXERS games @ the "SPECTRUM", partying @ the La Ferry, The Library, The Impulse...wow! the memories! He was so cool on the dance floor! One of his favorite songs was FUNK BOX PARTY! aka "Oooh, Na, Na, Na, Na" lol! JB was more of a big brother, he always was there for me and we could talk about anything. I always enjoyed our conversations about the Lord as we grew older. Even though JB left us "too soon!" and very unexpectedly; God knows best! I miss him still and will always carry him in my heart! I am so happy and blessed to know that he accepted Christ and that now JB is in heaven and yes one of my angels!
