He was a mechanic for American Can Co., Washington, N.J., for 18 years. Born in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late John Caffrey Sr., who also died on Feb. 24, and Margaret (Smith) Caffrey. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Alpha. He was a member of the Order of Fleas, Citizens Hose Company and Liberty Hose Company, all of Easton, West Easton Fire Company, and the Italian American Social Club and YMIA Club, both of Phillipsburg.
