George died in Tanzania in a boating accident March 2nd 2005. He had a service in San Francisco at the home of Royal and Laurie Farros, his dear friends, where we planted a tree. He is survived by his mother Ruby, and his sisters Ellen, Laura and Christa. He was preceded in death by his father Sam.

George Vineyard, Tom Parsons, Geoff Lamb and I all had paper routs together while in Madison Simis. Together we ruled Phoenix in the early mornings. George, Tom and I were also in the same boy scout troup (Troup 264). Thanks to Tom's posting, I was able to read George's Blog where his personality came back to life. Having been to Africa and Tanzania multiple times and hearing of George's loss, I am humbled even further. I will miss George and thank him for the good times we shared together. We all take risks that can go wrong. Life is a game of the chances. Bruce
