Martin Lawrence Brim (Marty to his friends and family), passed away on July 20, 2023, in Prescott, Arizona at the age of 71. Marty is survived by his wife, Dawn Kuter Brim, and two sisters, Judy Brim, Nancy Brim (Isaac Palivathukal) and one nephew, Coby Brim Palivathukal.

Marty was born in Evanston, Illinois, on November 9th, 1951, to Sonya and Norman Brim. At the age of 5, his family moved from Morton Grove, IL, to New York. Marty had many interests and careers: some of them were purchasing and selling Indian Jewelry, collecting Kachina dolls, teaching his cockatiel, Junior, to talk, and playing the guitar. For many years, Marty was an avid hiker; he especially loved hiking through the Grand Canyon, which he did a number of times.

In addition to his wife and sisters, Marty leaves behind him many, many good friends from all over the country; he loved traveling and socializing with them.

The 50th reunion afforded me the opportunity to share a table with Marty.  After not seeing him for 50 years it took us a while, as you might imagine, to share our interests and adventures in life.  We focused quite heavily on our musical tastes which not surprisingly followed like genres.  It was a wonderful time that will always be in my memories of Marty.

Rest peacefully Marty

Marty was one of kind.
Bumped into him only briefly at the 50th.
I do remember his many comments in Mr Woods Spanish class and of course I'll never forget our biology "germ" experiment getting "samples" from various school locations.

Marty Brim. Marty was and likely still is, a character. As the others, my last good conversation was with Marty and his father, while "dining" in the Cosco food court. His dad was clearly smitten with his son, attentive and smiling as Marty spoke. Marty repaid his father's attention, with attention. You had to love that Marty did what he wanted to, not what he was expected to, because of his high intellect. I bet a cab drive in Marty's taxi was an event. He said he loved that job. He also had a talent for funning up a party, if you get my drift. What I enjoyed most about the man was that he didn't waiver in his convictions or who he was.  RIP Marty Brim.

I have many fun and hilarious memories of Marty. One thing about him that I always appreciated was his faithfulness as a friend. We didn't grow old together because I lived in Dallas, and he in Arizona. The few times we visited since High School would be at one of the many reunions. Each and every time, he'd make you feel like you were his best friend. Loved the way he viewed the world. He'll be missed.
