Gerald Jerry Latham

Gerald "Jerry" Dennis Latham of Glendale, Arizona passed away peacefully January 12, 2024 at Hospice of the Valley.

He was born February 5, 1951 to the late Guy E. and Gertrude L. (Reagan) Latham. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Latham.

Jerry was a graduate of Washington High School, class of 1969, and a graduate of Northern Arizona University, class of 1978. He spent many years volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America including Order of the Arrow. Jerry was a teacher and outdoorsman at heart and touched many lives with his humor, knowledge and skills. His many interests included scuba diving, flint knapping, blacksmithing, antique weaponry, dutch oven cooking, hot air balloon chasing, photography, model rocketry, steam engine railroading, and traveling. His experience also included being a brewmaster and scuba diving instructor. As a fourth generation Arizonan, he embraced his Southwestern roots with his love for old western movies, especially those with John Wayne and Wild West history.

Jerry's careers included Scottsdale Community College, Computer Services Administrator, Computer consultant for the Oakland Athletic baseball team and field engineer for Rajant Corporation.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Patricia (Landis) Latham; daughter, Michelle I. Latham of Portland, Oregon; son, Michael W. Latham of Glendale, Arizona and granddaughter, Abigail M. Latham; sister, Karen Sue Latham; nephews Daniel J. Walsh and Mastin C. Latham; and niece Stephanie Stone. Also left to cherish his memory are many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
