In Memory

Larry Martin Dougherty

Larry Martin Dougherty

Larry Martin Dougherty passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his girls, after an extensive battle with cancer, at the age of 56 on the morning of Friday, March 27, 2009. He was born the youngest of 3 children, on September 23, 1952 in Phoenix, AZ to Verle C. Dougherty and Leila Mae Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, MaryBeth Dougherty, his 4 daughters, Jessica Randels, Edana Record, Beth Dougherty, Amy Dougherty, his 3 grandchildren, Cache, Teagan and Lily, father Cliff Dougherty, mother Leila Williams, brother Steve Dougherty and sister Lorna Dougherty.

Larry owned and operated a successful concrete construction business, Dougherty Concrete Construction, for 25 years. All who knew Larry were aware of his endless love and devotion to his family, adoration of his beach retreats, dry sense of humor and quick wit, enjoyment of yummy food, especially a good cheeseburger and homemade desserts!

He will be remembered as a cherished husband, loving father and grandfather, devoted son, brother, uncle and friend. He has taught us all the ability to love unconditionally and be strong in the face of adversity, he will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 5:30-8:00 p.m at Thompson's Valley West Funeral Chapel 926 S. Litchfield Road Goodyear, AZ. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at First Southern Baptist Church 1001 N Central Ave. Avondale, AZ 85323.
