James Weipert

James Weipert

James William Weipert returned to his Heavenly Father on January 28, 2009, at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego after a bout with cancer. James Weipert was born in Phoenix, AZ, on February 12, 1952, to William and Lois Weipert. He attended school at BYU, ASU, and U of A where he earned his Juris Doctorate Degree.

Jim was very active in the LDS church where he served as a Stake President for nine years. Jim served his first mission in Texas and in Mexico and he served as the Mission President of the Paraguay Asuncion North Mission. He was also active in Scouting and in the Rotary Club in San Diego. He enjoyed water skiing, tubing, spending time with family and his parrot Jimmy. Many were blessed by his service and compassion. He will be sorely missed by friends, family and the community.

He is survived by his wife Jen, his children, Staci, Michael, Laura, Kristi and Mark, six grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, his mother, and parrot Jimmy.

The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at the LDS Sweetwater Stake Center.
