Bob always got to (or was cursed to) sit in front of me in the classes where we were arranged by alphabet, so I knew him well. His sister was my square dance partner in PE. I believe he became a highway patrolman. My father was pulling a camping trailer through Salt River Canyon when he was pulled over. The patrolman turned out to be Bob. When he recognized my father, he let him off and actually apologized for pulling him over. That's another thank-you that I'll never get to deliver in person. Thanks Bob. It seems he died too young.
