YES, SCOTT GREENE WAS SO FUN & FRIENDLY ALWAYS. I LIVED IN SAN FRANCISCO WHEN HE DID BUT I NEVER KNEW IT. THEN WAS DEEPLY SADDEN HEAR OF HIS DEATH OF AIDS... HE WAS MY FIRST FOR THAT AND I TOO JUST ACKED ABOUT IT.  I HAVE "COULDA & SHOULDA'S" ABOUT HIM NOW AND I JUST HOPE HE HAD A GOOD TIME IN THE LIFE HE DID HAVE BECAUSE HE WAS SUCH A GOOD PERSON. Scott was a great guy and he always said hello.  I was in San Diego, at Balboa Park and he came up and we talked for awhile.

I was blessed to be Scott Greene's step-sister.  His father married my mother many years ago.  I grew up with Scott.  I remember Trick or Treating with Scott, my brother Tom and Richard Winters.  Scott andI went to the fair every year it seemed.  What wonderful times.  I have such great childhood memories of him.  He will always be in our hearts.  He passed away in 1984.

I would like to bring everyone up to date on Scott Greene. Scott worked for Harold Cleworth who is a very talented English artist. His specialty is paintings of classic autos. I visited them many times in San Francisco when I lived in the area. They eventually moved to Venice Beach for better business opportunities and unfortunately Scott became very ill. I visited him in the hospital and he passed away a short time later. He died in 1987. He had a short life, but enjoyed it to the fullest.

Thank you Kevin for the update on Scott’s life.  It’s good to know that he lived a fulfilling, although short, life.  I know that he was always friendly and kind to me at West.  What a smile he had!  Coming from St. Gregory’s, the majority of my friends went on to different Catholic high schools, so I did not know too many people as an incoming Freshman.  I was so impressed with Scott’s outgoing personality and his confidence in running and being elected class president right upon entering West.  I’m not surprised that he ended up in art, as he seemed to have a knack for dressing pretty cool and looking just right.  Since I was so interested in fashion design, I know that I noticed things like that.  Gerry, I didn’t know that Scott was your step-brother, and thank you for sharing those sweet younger memories of him.  And Michelle, Jarvis, and Carol, it is good to read about your memories and antics too, and yes he was a very great guy.  Phillip, it’s wonderful that you wrote about Scott, and that is what started all these comments, and I loved reading your other memories of departed classmates as well.  It’s awesome that you took the time to do this.  May Scott still Rest In Peace.

I have enjoyed everyone's memories of Scott. Gerry, I don't know how it escaped me that you and Scott were step-siblings. All those years together in grade school and that fact was not known to me. Scott was one of those unforgettable people we were privileged to have known in our youth. I'm so very sorry that we lost him so long ago. Reading of all the classmates who have departed makes the privilege of being able to gather together for our 50th Class Reunion even more poignant. Hoping to see all of you at our celebration of four wonderful years together at West High.

Scott was always fun to be around, we got into a lot of fun trouble together when we were in grade school (Clarendon). Richard Winters lived across the street from Scott and I lived one block over so we hungout all the time, riding our sting-ray bikes while singing what songs were popular and talking about girls. Scott got me drunk for my first time at his house with Robin Redding and Alice Ketner who were both a grade above Scott and I while at West High, few things were cooler than that for a couple of goofball nutjobs like Scott and I.  I am glad I never continued with the drinking after peer pressure was no longer a factor, Scott didn't need to drink to be the center of attention or to loosen his tongue, He had a great gift of gab that served him well. Everyone liked Scott, he was very funny, very hip, very sweet, and all the while being a rebel, I mean who gets kicked out of the office of freshman president, wow. Scott dated Tina Wasburn who was the neighborhood sweetheart but broke up with her to date Raelynn Falbo, I remember how upset Tina was when we talked about the breakup in the quad during lunch break, she jokingly said it was because of certain physical differences between Rae and her. Scott visited Doug Bogard and I when we were sharing a house in Flagstaff during the early eighties, he was Scotty by then and of course, quite flamboyant, the light blue eye liner really popped with all of those freckles. He was having a great time with his life and I should be so lucky.

Oh, wow, Ed. What a fabulous synopsis of your memories with Scott! It was a treat to read. I can't wait for all of us to gather and share even more:)  Since I was a good friend of Robin's (and Alice as well), I especially got a kick out of that portion. It sounds like something they would be involved in :) See you in October!!

I Scott was a wonderful and kind person who wanted to be friends with everyone. He was my special friend and although I did not know of all the transitions that that occurred in his lifetime until after high school, I always knew him to be a sweet , kind and gentle soul. We could all aspire to be this kind of beautiful being. I really do think of him often and wish that he was not taken away by the terrible  HIV virus. He is a very special person in my heart.

I didn't know Scott very well at all basically just in passing, but found him to be a very kind person.  I had a seriously mad crush on his beautiful red hair!
