Maureen passed away March 2, 2010 after losing a year long battle with ovarian cancer.

After graduating from Duquesne, Maureen continued her education to eventually become a Physician's Assistant. She spent the final years of her career working for over 10 years at the VA Hospital In Martinsburg, WV. There, she earned the respect of co-workers and patients alike who attended her funeral in numbers exceeding one hundered..
