Charlie died on October 10, 2009.  He had planned to attend our reunion, but could not due to his health. He was 68 years old and lived in Groton, CT and died after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born in Allentown, PA.  His parents were the late Charles and Jeanne Kay of FL.  He was in the Coast Guard from 1960 to 1968 and the National Guard from 1975 to 1988.  He retired from the town of Groton where he was employed for 15 years.  He enjoyed biking, motorcycling, golfing, bowling and camping.  He leaves behind his loving wife of 24 years, Betty Kay;  one son, four stepchildren, and (7) grandchildren.  He leaves one brother,   one sister.  He was predeceased by one additional sister.
