Emil Schoedel

Emil Anthony Schoedel, a skilled designer, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at his Colrain, Massachusetts, home on September 29, 2023.  Born in Pittsburgh, PA, on June 30, 1941, Emil was an energetic and creative man with boundless warmth and charm.

After graduating from Mt. Lebanon High School near Pittsburgh, Emil served in the United States Navy.  Following his military service, he focused on his artistic talents, earning a degree from Cleveland Institute of Art.

Emil's career led him to Lunt Silversmiths in Greenfield, Massachusetts, where he worked as a designer, and eventually as the head designer.  He was later the chief designer and part owner of Design Master Associates, where he designed souvenirs for historical sites and many White House Christmas ornaments.

Emil is survived by his devoted wife, Sarah Schoedel, five children, and eight grandchildren.  He made Colrain his home for the past 51 years.

A private family memorial service to celebrate Emil's life will be held.

Emil's creativity, passion, and dedication to his family will be remembered and cherished always.
