I remember Bill from the Mt. Lebanon Dodgers baseball team.  He played center field and batted fourth.  He was the best player on the team.

Billy was one of the best  natural athletes of our class.

He batted. 387 in our senior year, and caught the last out in our WPIAL championship.

We communicated over the years, and reveled how important that was to us..

RIP Billy.

Many great memories of Bill; athletic prowess (maybe the best pure athlete in our class), all night poker games, his 1950 Plymouth convertible, and his strength of character despite a difficult home life.  Most won’t remember, but Bill didn’t graduate with the Class of ’59; he joined the Marine Corps a few months before graduation.  But he returned two years later, finished a few classes, and graduated in ’61.  Nevertheless, he was always a member of the Class of ’59.  He came to many class reunions, but the “reunion” I best remember is a 2016 lunch in Chapel Hill with Bill, Bob Peace (and our wives) reminiscing for hours about the good times we were all blessed to be born into.   Rest in Peace, Bill!
