I want to wish all my fellow veterans of the class of "79" a happy Veterans Day tomorrow. We should all take a moment to reflect on our service and that of our fellow service members. Especially those of us who may have children serving in harms way in Southwest Asia. For everyone else, regardless of your politics, remember that those of us who chose the profession of arms are proud to have served you and our country. This is not commonly known, but, if you see a Military member in an airport this holiday season dressed in their fatigue uniform they are most likely on their way home from a combat zone for R&R or returning to their deployed unit. If you get the chance, why not pick up their tab at the snack bar or restaurant. A small gesture goes a long way in the minds of these brave Americans. Let them know we stand behind them as we sleep safe because of their sacrifice.

Happy Veterans Day to our men and women who are serving and have served. God bless all of you!

By the way, if anyone has any other pictures from the reunion, please post them on the Reunion Photos

Who wants to have a 35th reunion and make it casual?

Our fellow classmate TJ Fife has to face many challenges within the next few days...He has survived stage 4 cancer but has lung cancer now.....TJ is also an alcoholic...He needs prayer and support...Ron Bonner and Marilyn Simmons have stepped up to the plate to help our fellow classmate..Time for love instead of prejudice and selfishness....

I remember playing pick up football during our Junior High school years...TJ was definitely a naturally atheletic fast kid. I hope he is not suffering...please send my best wishes. Our thoughts and prayers are with TJ and his family.

79-peeps,
Sorry for not making the October gig as i had a conflict. I did see a few of you afterwards at the Saloon on Saturday night- great to catch-up, and great to see you.

Not to be a buzz kill, but I wanted to alert you of the condition of a fellow classmate...Marc DeCello.

Marc has been combatting cancer for some time, and that I ask that you keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

I'm really sorry to hear this. He was a good kid and I'm sure an even better person after our days at Lebo.

Hope everyone had a great spring break! It's my busy season at work, but my girls drove to Corpus and had a few days of sun before getting back to another historic frosty morning.

Wishing a Happy Memorial Day to all my Brothers in Arms both past and present. Espcecially the families of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country's freedoms. Remember, Monday is not just a day off for a cook out. Take a moment to reflect on why we celebrate. Take also an opportunity to enlighten your children and grandchildren. If history is not passed down to our youth it will be lost. Just take a look at some of the text books they have today.

God Bless The USA

Thanks to all of those who protect our freedom. Thanks to all who work and a belated Labor Day to you laborers. For those who so celebrate (or at least appreciate freedom of religion) Happy 5771.

A belated thank you to our classmates who served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard, whether active duty or reserves. Without your sacrifices we would not be able to enjoy our many freedoms. Appreciatively, David and Family

As the 2010 Holiday season kicks off I want to wish each of you Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Ft. Bragg and the Carolinas. May the coming year bring (insert southern inflection here) ya'll health and prosperity. May you have less snow to shovel but the kids still have the snow days. Most of all may the Steelers get it together for post season! At least they still have to play the panthers which is a guaranteed win. GO STEELERS!

Happy New Year to you and your families!
I wish everyone great health and happiness in 2011.

Well, it has gotten really quiet in here... I think its about time we consider some kind of informal summer (2011) get together for those of us in the Pittsburgh area or anyone who might be passing through. Saloon, Molly B's...etc... Any takers? Or is the big 50 wearing us all out?

Thank you everyone for all the kind messages on the Mavs Championship!

Wishing all of you and yours a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year from Ft. Bragg. Remember to keep our soldiers in your prayers. Oh, and Happy Birthday to all of us who reached the big 50 this year. Are we middle aged yet? Not sure how many 100 year olds I can count. Bring on the senior citizen discounts!

Hello Lebo folks --

First timer on this site ... did not make the reunion but heard from Suzanne, Pam and many of my other Lovely ladies (@Pam King) that it was an awesome time.

Got a great Pittsburgh Story  -- Well,  I left Mt Lebonan and never turned back when I went to college in Florida.  Did the regular stuff got married, moved to Altanta had a baby (who is now 23) then back to Florida for the rest of the time.  My son decided he would go to Boston College - go figure (it is a great school and he was the voice of BC announcing both Football and Basketball - recall - I was the Sports editor of the HS paper for a short gig)

So here is where the story gets fun .... and pGH related-- as Senior he met a girl -- Susanna Freyvogel - and she is from PITTSBURGH.  She is the last of 7 kids -- only in PGH (I was the last of 6) so who knew ... I now have a photo of the two of them up on the incline platform with PGH and "golden triangle" behind them.  Life is crazy.

Moral of the story - You can run for 33 years but you can't hide!!  Once a PGH connection always Pgh'er.  It if gets real serious it would be great to come back and see all the great "lebo" people and places.

Take Good Care -

Jane Morahan Koubek

PS saw Laurel Thorpe's brother at my Brothers 60th birthday party last year in Florida- Funny stuff

In the Burgh for Easter. Hitting all the old haunts for some supply stock up. Stip District for Parma Sausage, Primamnti's, then off to Beto's on banksville for lunch. Rode around for over an hour last night just to find an open resturant. C'mon PGH get with the program. People do eat out on Easter Sunday. Oh Yea, nice dirt pile at the High School! Glad I don't have your taxes up here. Happy Easter to all 79ers.
