I was in Education for over 30 years. I then attended the National Catholic School of Social Services for a Masters in Social Work. I have worked with homeless and foster children.

For the past 12 years, I am a therapist at St. Luke Institute, a healing place for priests and religious men and women

School Story:

Sr. Marie Elise was the 7th grade St. Raphael Elementary School teacher.

The class of 1967 was the second class I taught. I was young, would you believe--I was 21-22 years old. I am thrilled to be invited to the Reunion. I loved this group. thank You! I have many stories and such good memories.

Sr. Marie Elise celebrated 50 years as a Sister of St. Joseph.

After 30 years in education, Sister Frances Omodio "yearned to learn how to serve in a healing profession of compassion and care."

That calling eventually led her to Saint Luke Institute in Silver Spring, Md. Since 1997, she has served as a social worker and psychotherapist at the mental health and addictions treatment center for clergy and religious men and women.

"This ministry is a culmination of a lifetime of preparation to live out our charism of uniting neighbor with neighbor and neighbor to God. "

Sister Frances (Marie Elise) previously served as a teacher, principal and counselor at Pittsburgh diocesan schools, including St. Bede, St. Raphael, Annunciation, St. Catherine, St. Angela Merici, and St. Andrew in Johnstown. The influence of the Sisters of St. Joseph who taught her at Assumption inspired her "to be a part of something bigger" than herself.

"I am grateful for my life and the gift of relationships that I have with women of different ages and walks of life. I invite associates and friends into our sacred circle."
