Freddie was my oldest friend. We met in the beginning of 2nd grade at Wightman School. We stayed close friends throughout High School, College, Grad schools, etc.  We visited each other in our cites of residence (me in Atlanta, Fred in Memphis). We spoke regularly.  We shared our good and our bad,

On Saturday, May 26th, Fred succumbed to the ravages of pancreatic cancer.  I was thankful that I visited him again a couple of weeks ago while we could spend time together.

Today was his Funeral in Memphis.  Both Larry Barfield and I attended the funeral.

He will be missed...

Freddie and I were friends at Wightman and also neighbors on Murdoch Road. My most fun memory was  during the hot summers - we would run through the sprinklers in our backyards. When I switched to Linden in 3rd grade, I lost touch with him. The next time I spoke with him was when he supplied all the Wightman class pictures via Facebook that were displayed at the TAHS 50th reunion. I'm glad we got to have that conversation.  It's wonderful to hear that you and he stayed friends to the end, Harvey.

I knew Fred from Wightman.  I also remember he played for the Bears and I played for the Tartans, Squirrel Hill Little League.  I've always enjoyed his Face Book Posts.  So sorry to hear of his passing.  Sincerest sympathy to his family.

Freddie was a really great guy.  I remember him being a terrific softball player.  Sad news indeed.

Fred and I were friends back in Wightman School days.  I remember lazy summer afternoons biking together in Sq Hill and looking through monster movie magazines from the Sq Hill Newstand.  Good memories, sad loss.  Harvey, glad you both stayed friends.

Fred and I sat next to each other in many Wightman and Allderdice classes. One thing I remember is how we would make snide comments or jokes about the teachers...Fred was funnier than me. He was fun to be around nad was a very good softball player. I liked his FB postings. I wish I knew he was so sick, so I could have talked to him one last time. Fred, you were good for a lot of us. Peace.

Fred and I were in the Squires at the IKC. We weren't real close but I remember that he had a good sense of humor and I enjoyed being around him. So sorry to hear of his passing  and my prayers and condolences to his family. Chuck Schultz
