Legal services attorney for 25 years, mainly working on disability issues, followed by 10 years consulting with state government and non-profits on human services issues. Served on way too many boards and committees.
Currently volunteer a couple days a week helping refugees get green cards and bring over family members, plus some other volunteer work. Spend a lot of time walking the dog, hanging out with friends, watching junk TV, going to movies and concerts, reading, and trying not to despair over the state of the world.
AFSC fit right in with the values that my lefty mother tried so hard to instill in us - that each person should be considered as an individual, not by a stereotype, and that those of us who were lucky enough to have a good life have an obligation to play it forward.
