Cody Dean, a lifelong resident of Pleasanton, died Oct. 21 at the age of 18 from an automobile accident.

A senior at Amador Valley High School, he was an accomplished snow boarder. He also enjoyed wake boarding and off-road motorcycle riding. He dove competitively for the Amador Valley High School Dive Team, was a swimmer, enjoyed scuba diving, and was an amateur mechanic.

He was also an organ donor.

Dean leaves his parents Fred and Janna Dean of Pleasanton; brother Josh Dean of San Diego; grandparents Boyd and Helen Mahan of Placerville, Andrew and Maxine Irwin of El Paso, Texas, Marianne Cody Dean of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; and great-grandmother Gladys Miller-Sweet of Phoenix, Ariz.
