Not another REUNION, but a CRUISE?

  • Reunion Cruise for Pomona High School Class of 1970 & 1971!
  • 4-night Baja cruise to Ensenada and Catalina
  • Departing on November 4, 2024
  • Below are group rates for the Carnival "Radiance" sailing
  • Deposit is $150 per person and is refundable until final payment date of 8-11-2024.
  • The space is guaranteed until January 14, 2024.

When we danced the LAST DANCE at our “Greater than 50-year Reunion” Bonnie Davis Willett said, “Let’s get together again for a cruise!”

So, we’re putting out some feelers to see if the Classes of 1970 and 1971 would like to join us on a short, easy, cruise from Long Beach to Catalina and Ensenada! If we have fun on this cruise, maybe we’ll put together some more itineraries in the future.

Bonnie worked with a cruise agent to come up with this plan for a 4-night cruise the first week of November next year in 2024.

If you want to reserve a room, contact Jayne at Cruise Holidays of Upland and mention Pomona High School. Deposit is $150 per person and is refundable until final payment date of 8-11-2024. The space is guaranteed until January 14, 2024.

Here’s some of the details.

Hi Bonnie,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to help you plan your High School Reunion.

Below are group rates for the Carnival "Radiance" sailing 11-4-2024 on a 4-night Baja cruise to Ensenada and Catalina.

Balcony cabin, category 8B = $516.65 per person x 2 = $1,033.30

Window cabin, category 6B = $413.65 per person x 2 = $827.30

Inside cabin, category 4B = $351.65 per person x 2 = $703.30

Additional charges = $64.00 per person gratuities, $49.00 per person insurance

Deposit is $150.00 per person and is refundable until final payment date of 8-11-2024.

I have the space guaranteed until Jan 14, 2024.

Rates are cruise-only based on double occupancy. They include all taxes and government fees. They are based on availability and are subject to change.

If anyone has any special fares for Past Passenger status, they can apply. Casino rates are not combinable with the group.

If you have 5 or more cabins, you will receive $50 per cabin shipboard credit. This can be applied to a Reunion Cocktail Party on board if you like.

Let me know if you need any more information and I will be happy to help.

Thank you,

Jayne Marin

4-DAY BAJA MEXICO FROM LOS ANGELES, CA

Carnival Radiance

Start: Long Beach (Los Angeles) > Catalina Island > Ensenada > End: Long Beach (Los Angeles)

Day 1: Long Beach (Los Angeles)

Departs at 5:00 PM

When we talk about cruising from Los Angeles, fyi: we’re talking about cruises from Long Beach. A short drive from LA is where you’ll find this seaside Southern California city that’s inseparable from its big-city neighbor, while undeniably moving to its own local beat.

Day 2: Fun Day at Sea

No port today! It’s a great time to explore your ship and its exciting entertainment, food and activities! Or take it easy at the pool, spa, or... if you book a room with a balcony, enjoy the waves.

Day 3: Catalina Island

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Discover a sunny Southern California playground hidden beyond the Los Angeles horizon, on a Carnival cruise to Catalina Island. Just 22 miles from the mainland, Catalina Island has long been a getaway for savvy city hikers, sun-seekers… and film crews looking for a slice of accessible paradise.

Day 4: Ensenada

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Thanks to its stunning coastline, Ensenada will give you plenty of postcard-worthy moments…, and it couldn’t be easier to get there. Escape to Mexico’s original seaside getaway with Carnival cruises to Ensenada.

Day 5: Long Beach (Los Angeles)

Arrives at 7:00 AM

When we talk about cruising from Los Angeles, FYI: we’re talking about cruises from Long Beach. A short drive from LA is where you’ll find this seaside Southern California city that’s inseparable from its big-city neighbor, while undeniably moving to its own local beat.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Our "Greater than 50" year reunion, for the classes of 1970 & 1971, is Saturday, November 11, 2023 at DoubleTree Claremont from 5 to 10 pm. A few tickets have become available after cancellations due to illness. Contact us immediately if you want one or more. Ticket price is $125, per person, and includes appetizers, buffet dinner, dessert and no-host bar, as well as a DJ.

For classmates who will be in town on Friday, November 10, we're letting you plan your own informal gatherings with friends, and there are many good choices nearby. Elvira's is in the Old School House Shops and connected to DoubleTree via the parking lot; A group will be gathering on the patio at Espiau's, in downtown Claremont, for a no-host meet-up at 6 pm. Contact Sue Patterson Bridwell at sbridwell53@gmail.com if you want to join them.

A scenic walk is planned for Saturday morning along the Thompson Creek Trail. Meet at the top of Mountain Ave., Claremont at 9 am and park on Mountain or Silvertree. The walk takes about an hour and it should be a beautiful day.

What to wear? We really just want you to be comfortable, but as a general guide - business casual or resort casual will be fine. Jeans are perfectly acceptable and don't forget to wear your dancing shoes!

We're still missing many classmates from 1970 and some from 1971. Help us find our missing alumni. Check out the lists and send information on those you know.

C'mon, join us and let's party like it's 1970 or 71, and we're not 70 & 71!
