Timothy Ferrell Ferguson 

Timothy Ferrell Ferguson of La Pine, Ore., died April 18, 2003, at the age of 50. He was born July 9, 1952, in Pomona. He was a member of Pomona High School class of 1971, and enlisted in the U.S. Army in that same year. After discharge, he became a firefighter and paramedic with the Chino Valley Fire District from 1973-1986. He was a pioneer in the Paramedic Program and one of the first Firefighters in the San Bernardino County to become a Paramedic. Chino Valley Fire District representatives and comrades of Timothy, Curt Morris and Jeff Gaul presented Timothy's family with a plaque at the funeral service held Saturday, April 26, 2003, at New Hope Church in Bend, Ore. The plaque honored the contributions Timothy made to the firefighter and paramedic industry. Sept. 11, 1982, he married Carol Ackema in Wrightwood. In 1986, after having retired from the Fire District, he worked in the construction industry and then in 1992 he moved his family to La Pine, Ore., where he obtained his general contractor's license and ran his own contracting company, building homes and working on various projects throughout his community. Timothy, Carol and son, Kees were affiliated with New Hope Church in Bend, Ore., as well as Gideons International. He is survived by his wife, Carol of La Pine, Ore.; and son, Kees Shadley of Bend, Ore.; his father, Doyle of Thousand Palms; his mother, Alberta Collins of Montclair; four brothers, Palmer Laughlin of Chino, Monte Laughlin of Coon Rapids, Minn., Steven Laughlin of Tehachapi and Jon Laughlin of Cheyenne, Wyo.; as well as 12 nephews and nieces and two grandchildren.
