Lorrie Elaine Owen Gauthier

1953-2013

Napa Valley Register Sep 25, 2013

Lorrie Elaine Gauthier passed away peacefully in Napa on Sept. 15, 2013, surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born May 11, 1953, to Jimmy and Elaine Owen in Oklahoma City. After graduating from high school in 1971, she attended Cal Poly and other colleges where she studied business.

As a young adult, Lorrie was active in missionary work in Kodiak, Alaska, and enjoyed sharing her talents working with World Vision. She moved to Fort Worth, Texas, and was working as a flight attendant for Braniff Airlines, when her path crossed with her future husband, Gregory Gauthier, in 1980. She then relocated to Chicago and embarked on an adventure as a wife and a mother to two children, William James Gauthier and Jacqueline Nicole Gauthier.

After adding “Number One Mom” to her list of accomplishments, she then began working with several business organizations in accounting and administration while pursuing her avocational interests in health, fitness, yoga and dance.

Upon moving to Napa Valley in 2004, she worked closely with her husband, Greg, as a vital business partner in building the Gauthier Select Vineyards wine business.

Her passion in life was making people happy and she spent time doing that in every way possible.

She is survived by her loving husband and soul mate of 34 years, Greg; son, William; daughter, Jacqueline; mother, Elaine; sisters, Vicki Gay and Debbie Owen; and nieces, Melissa Honald, and Ashlyn and Emma Gay. She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Hays.

She will be deeply missed, not only by her close friends and family but also by the many other people who had the chance to meet her. To know her was to love her.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made in her name to Habitat for Humanity. Condolences and memories may be sent to the family at TulocayCemetery.org.
