Pomona Fire Department
Jan 28, 2020

It is with great sadness to send out the news that Kurt Lindebaum answered his last bell on Monday morning.  Kurt felt ill on the 27th and was seen at an Urgent Care and sent home.  On Tuesday morning, the 28th, he took a turn for the worse and was transported to the hospital where he passed from this life.
I have no other information at this time.  When arrangements are made or any other info comes available it will be passed along.

The Lindebaum's were neighbors of ours on Artesia Street.  Kurt and his brother Wayne, Margie and Lindy were wonderful people.  I was really sad to hear when Wayne died and now Kurt.  Very sad.  May they both Rest In Peace. 🙏🏻♥️

Kurt deserves a mention.  It's difficult to see people slip away.  It's more difficult to see someone who was a close friend go.  I met Kurt at San Jose Elementary - probably in 4th grade.  As Cynthia mentioned, he lived down on Artesia, along with Cynthia's brother, Doug Ford, Roger Snoke, John Mokri, and Kathy King.  I lived 4 blocks up on Sherwood Pl, next to the Tim and Lyle Vinatieri, and across the street from Steve Koenig.  Great neighborhood!  Kurt and the rest of the gang spent a bunch of time at Ganesha Park swimming and playing carroms or football or climbing around Ganesha Hills (remember the Greek Theater anyone?)  We mostly stayed out of trouble.  His family was very generous, inviting me on trips up to their cabin in Crestline.  When I moved away from SoCal, we eventually lost touch.  Anyway, Kurt was a close friend through childhood, adolescence, and early adulthood.  It was a hit to hear of his death, during a time of life that I have no doubt that he was really enjoying himself.  He was a fun guy, and an important player in my early life.  He always had my respect.
