After graduating from PCHS I went to WMU, graduating with a major in Marketing and Spanish.
In 1994 I moved to Livonia, MI to take a job in event/promotion planning with Valassis Communications. I was lucky enough to have a great roommate and life long friend, Christy (Spanhak) Martin navigate through the mid 20's with me until she got engaged and moved back to KZOO. Shortly after I started dating CJ, whom I had met at work. We got married in 1999 and are about to celebrate our 10 year anniversary in May.
Our daugher Clara was born in 2001 and son Joel in 2003. I "retired", as my husband jokingly says, from Valassis after Joel was born. Since then I have had the pleasure of watching them grow, much faster than I ever anticipated. Now that they are in school full time, I've had a chance to use my education/employment skills
in many different capacities at our church - primarily though as the sponsor and coordinator of our young adult fellowship group whose primary goal is to keep the youth in our church involved after graduating high school. Most are just social gatherings, but I do also take them on an annual week long mission trip working with Habitat for Humanity. Fun...exhausting...incredibly fulfilling. That about sums up life in the Smith household!
