Indeed I agree that for many years I have been curious about how my high school friends have been. As I scrolled down the list of names I began to recall moments from my three years at Churchill.

I'd like to wish everyone in the class of 70 and their significant others, and their families a very happy holiday season. I am deeply touched by the demise of a few of us and I offer my deepest condolences to those associated, albeit a bit late. I am looking forward to the reunion. Feel free to contact me.

I am so happy that we are going to have our reunion! Seems hard to believe that its been 40 years! We are part of the history of Herbert Hoover Jr. High and Winston Churchill High, because they were both brand new schools when we started there. We were able to pick the school colors and mascots. Do you remember them?

Hoover's "The Chargers" was burgundy & white.
Chuchill "The Bulldogs" was Blue/Green/White.

Some of my classmates I have kept in contact over the years by phone or letters. It will be so nice to see all my classmates again.

Life is precious, its a gift from God. Remember to be thankful for what you do have and not want you don't have. Remember to smile it will make the other person smile too.

Looking forward to see all of you.

Happy birthday to John. It is great getting older but not for the weak at heart.
You know it has been years since I tried to remember what life was like in the Potomac Maryland area and what went on at Winston Churchill. Now that I suffer form part timers it has made it most trying.
I hope that the New year brings many blessings.

What great fun looking at the yearbook pictures and the profiles. The late 60's and early 70's were trying times. Is there a list of the teachers for 1970? If not it would be interesting to hear comments about your favorites or..... not so favorites.

Fello Bulldogs,

The circle of life is starting to make another turn. 40 years ago I was busy playing Basketball and trying to win a county championship.

Tomorrow night ( Friday 1/25 ), My son will be playing for Clarksburg against Churchill trying to do the same thing. I guess for 1 night, I will have to hope that the Coyotes beat up on the Bulldogs. Sorry fellow Bulldogs.

I'm not sure about the old fight song...
A few years ago we had a student intern at the school where I taught. When I was introduced to him I was told that he maybe came from my neck of the woods, and sure enough he was from Potomac and had gone to Churchill, whereupon I burst into the entire fight song in the faculty room and he just looked at me blankly. Uhhh, you're not familiar with this song I asked?
No, he was not..... did he not go to football games or is the song dead?
He never got very chummy with me.....

 John,

Is this your doing?! It's been GREAT reading profiles and contacting various people.  Once I discovered the personal updates, (some with pictures), I was so engrossed, I hadn't realized it was nearly 3 a.m.  You've covered every detail. I was especially impressed with the personal comments written about those who have left us. Your outstanding work is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Up to this point, H.S. was a faded memory that would come into focus during one of my Jr. High (off topic) class discussions like, "If you never had Nintendo, what did you do for fun?" or "OMG! How did you ever survive without cell phones?!"  Freaky deja vu moments have popped up during lessons using history clips from the 60's and 70's when I would suddenly realize we were there! Now, thanks to your updates I've got even more great examples to convince 7th graders there really is life after middle school and high school!

Last weekend I went to my husband's 40th reunion; it was subdued compared to your plans, but I enjoyed roaming around picking up puzzle pieces of Ron's earlier days as his classmates reminisced. Now I'm REALLY looking forward to our time together! Thanks, reunion committee for a job well done!

P.S. Kay (T.) I'd still recognize you anywhere...YOU GO GIRL!

Friends,

To all of you who knew our mom, she passed away on the 31st of July, quite peacefully.  We are celebrating her one month anniversary with a mass at Our Lady of Mercy chapel on August 31st at 7:30 pm.  All are invited to join us in this celebration.

Dear Gonzalo and Jorge,

I was so sorry to hear of your loss.  I guess we are all heading into this difficult time of change.  My parents still belong to OLOM, in fact I was there in the spring for a concert.  It doesn't look at all the same.

To Everyone Attending the Reunion this Weekend:

First, let me say that I am looking forward to the Reunion this coming weekend.  Indeed, I am traveling from Israel to take part.  Second, I want to explain that because of religious restrictions, I will not be able to join the events until Saturday night at around 8 pm at the Bethesda Marriott.  I hope you understand.

Third, special thanks to the Reunion Committee for their superlative efforts in making this event happen.

I can't wait to see you all.

I enjoyed seeing everyone on Friday night.  As I mentioned on Friday, I live pretty much right across from Churchill so let me throw this out there.  After the game I'd like to invite anyone who wants to stop by my place for a cold drink before heading back to the hotel.  My house is small but I'm sure I can accomodate more people than Bambino's.  I've also got a pool table down stairs for anyone who wants to shoot a game or two.  It would be best to walk over due to limited parking.  I'm at 11607 Regency Drive.  Just walk down Georgetown Drive (the road right across from the school) for 1 short block and turn left on Regency.  I'm the third house on the right.   It's the house with the american flag out front.

See ya Friday,

Paul

Gary and Reunion Committee,

You're AMAZING!  Thank you so much for the fantastic pictures! It seemed everywhere we turned, you were there arranging shots. This event has been such an enjoyable experience and it's not over yet. What a great "flash of the past" (and future)  this has been.  Thank you committee for all your time and amazing efforts to make this a weekend of wonderful memories!

The ties that are bound during the years when when come of age are defining, lasting, and instantly renewable.  I have always believed that we were and are an incredible group.  All this was on parade throughout a very memorable weekend.
