Saguaros Under Stress

For homeowners who have expressed concerns about the health of several Saguaro cacti inside and bordering Powderhorn Ranch, or who otherwise may be interested in this troublesome issue, an article published by University of Arizona Maricopa County Cooperative Extension can be found at the link below. Saguaro cacti dropping arms or collapsing is a current problem throughout metro Phoenix and is not unique to our community. Experts in Saguaro horticulture have found no solutions to avoid or lessen the problem.

Picking Up After Fido

Some of our neighbors have asked that we post a simple reminder asking all to pick up after their dogs, especially when they do their business on someone's front lawn (on both real and artificial turf) or at our greenbelt. Granted, the "repeat offenders" may not have joined our website (and therefore won't see this) and, in fact, may well be folks who don't live here but who walk their dogs through the streets of Powderhorn Ranch, and who visit our greenbelt as though it is a public park. In any event, thoughful consideration of all is appreciated.

Off-Leash Dogs

Dog owners are reminded to please keep their dogs leashed on our streets and sidewalks throughout the subdivision, as required by City ordinance. Well-behaved dogs can enjoy brief periods at the greenbelt off-leash when supervised by their owners, but must not be allowed to wander onto the sidewalk or onto Larkspur off leashes.
