In Memory

George Jaime

FORT FAIRFIELD - George Patrick Jaime, 49, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. He was born on July 30, 1970, in New Haven, Connecticut, the son of George J. Jaime and Ethel A. Jaime. He was the youngest and beloved brother of five siblings. He moved with his family to Aroostook County at the age of four. He earned his GED at Presque Isle High School, earning a highest test score that year.

George, a mason by trade, was most known for his love of historical buildings as owner of the Fort Fairfield Train Station and member of Fort Fairfield Historical Society. He was an avid stamp and coin collector. George lived in Florida when he was in his early thirties and spent several years sailing on his sailboat. He was an avid fisherman. His most recent endeavor was to preserve a civil war era post and beam barn in Linneus, Maine which was the site of his untimely death in the final stages of the project.

George was well loved and had many life-long friends from childhood. He grew up in Mars Hill and enjoyed skiing, picking potatoes, caring for animals, and adventures in the great North Woods. His dream was to move the barn to the coast of Maine and fish during his retirement years and leave a legacy for his Danilyn, who was the light of his life.

George is survived by his daughter, Danilyn of Houlton, Maine, mother Ethel Jaime, Fort Fairfield, Maine, father George J. Jaime, Maine, two sisters Sally and Susan Jaime, brothers Gregg Jaime, Mapleton, Maine and Ted Jaime, Blaine, Maine, and a stepbrother from Vermont.
