News Release

CHAPMAN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A Presque Isle man died in a singular car accident Thursday night in Chapman. Maine State Police said Johnathan Browning, 42, was driving a GMC pickup on Chapman Road northbound around 6:45 p.m. when the vehicle slightly went off the side of the road. This caused the vehicle to skid out of control, said police. The pickup crossed the roadway, struck a telephone pole, and rolled onto its side. Browning wasn't wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. The driver died at the scene. State Police said speed and no seat belt are considered factors of the crash. The investigation still is ongoing.
