Eugene Herrera

Flavio Eugene "Gene" Herrera, age 42, passed away Jan. 12, 2004 in Tempe, Ariz. He was born Jan. 21, 1961 in Hiawatha to Flavio and Sarah Martinez Herrera. He was a graduate of both Carbon High School and College of Eastern Utah. He was a free spirit. He enjoyed riding mountain bikes, telling jokes (got time for a quick joke?), meeting new people and photography. He was an excellent mechanic.

Survived by sons, Joshua (Short Pants) and Matthew Brewster and their mother, Traci Smith, Park City. Also survived by loving companion Paula Bruso, Tempe, Ariz. Other survivors include father Flavio Herrera (Stella Montoya) and siblings Josie Espinoza (Steve Yamaguchi), Terrie Tweddell (Lee), Ernie (Kamille), David (Melissa) and Toni Thayne (Bill), all of Price, and brother Tom(Tammy), Port Orchard, Wash. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and other special family members including his godparents, Ernaldo and Esther Herrera, Magna, as well as many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Martinez Herrera, and siblings Jose Roy, Mary Helen, Mary Linda and Joseph Herrera, as well as maternal and paternal grandparents.

Fly brother, be free. We will miss you.

Memorial mass, Thursday, Jan. 22 at 11:30 a.m. at the Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Family will be at the church Thursday at 10 a.m. Committal service, Price City Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
