College was crazy, I had way too much fun, travelled every second I got and graduated from Campbell University in 2002 with BFA, double majoring in Graphic Design and Studio Art.
After graduating I started working at the at the Asheboro Public Library in 2003 (all my friends laughed at me and sometimes I still hear them snickering) and currently I'm the Web Administrator/Teen Librarian. (Basically I'm a computer geek, who gets to play in photoshop, plan events and order cool books for teens. I also work the Reference Desk which is highly amusing on a daily basis dealing with Randolph County's finest.)
December 2006, I married Jesse Barney (he's from Nebraska and is a huge cornhuskers/broncos/panthers fan for you sports enthusiast). He is an Air Traffic Controller at the Greensboro Airport.
June 2008 my business partner Mandy Sloan and I opened Circa Gallery located at 130-B. South Church Street Asheboro, in the "Old Mill" beside Timothy's and the Downtown Farmer's Market. (www.circagallerync.com) The Gallery represents over forty North Carolina artists. Come and visit! :)
My extracurricular activities include volunteering with the Friends of the Randolph Library and I'm also an active Board Member of the Randolph Arts Guild. I am also working towards my Master Degree in Library Science at NCCU.
When I have time I like to work in my studio, travel, read, dance to loud music and visit art exhibitions.
