Samuel Krick

Samuel "Sam" N. Krick Jr., 55, Cumru Township, passed away Jan. 12, 2012, in his home with family members by his side.

Sam was the husband of Georgette A. (Beaulieu).

Born in West Reading, he was a son of Elizabeth I. (Ertel) Krick, Kenhorst, and the late Sam N. Krick Sr.

His two sons, Adam P., fiancé of Teresa Rampulla, and Alexander N., husband of Nicole M. (Horrigan), both reside in Cumru Township.

Sam is also survived by his brother, Wayne A., husband of Virginia A. (Mihalcik), Exeter; his sister, Maureen M. (Krick), wife of Barry D. Scheirer, Exeter; and brother-in-law, Gregory O. Beaulieu, husband of Carol A. (Conrad), Reading.

A two-time alumnus of The Pennsylvania State University, Sam received his B.S. in Landscape Architecture and his Master's Degree in Regional Planning in 1978 and 1982, respectively.

He was a 1974 graduate of Holy Name High School, Reading.

With over 25 years of professional experience in the fields of landscape architecture and land-use planning, as well as a provider of expert witness testimony, Sam held numerous certifications, including Certified Professional Planner and Certified Park and Recreation Professional.

Sam was a certified instructor of the Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Education Institute and a published author.

His many years of employment included the Chester County Planning Commission, Systems Design Engineering and Stackhouse Bensinger Inc.

A member of St. John Baptist De La Salle R.C.C. in Shillington, Sam appreciated his parish family.

He will be remembered most for his previous dedication to Scouting and his involvement with Boy Scout Troop 237 and Cub Scout Pack 237, of which he was Cub Master for six years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Baptist De La Salle R.C.C. at Kerrick and Mitti Roads, Shillington, today at 7 p.m.

Rev. Robert Finlan will celebrate the Mass.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 6:45 p.m. in the church.

Viewing and burial services are private.
