Richard A. Rotondo - Class Of 1978

 

Richard A. "Rick" Rotondo, 57, of Ephrata, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 in Reading Hospital. Born in Scranton, he was the son of Alice (Schoppe) Rotondo and the late William Rotondo Sr.

Rick was a 1978 graduate of Holy Name High School, attended Towson University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Communications from Millersville University.

He was cameraman for sports networks FOX, ESPN and Blueridge Productions.

Rick is survived by his daughters, Autumn L. Rotondo of Tiptree, Essex, England, and Sandy J. Ridpath, wife of Daryl M. Ridpath of Tiptree, Essex, England; along with his brother, Barry Rotondo of West Lawn.

Rick was preceded in death by his brothers, William Rotondo Jr. and Robert Rotondo.

Rick was the life and soul of the party with his crazy dance moves; his singing talent was always revealed after a few beers especially singing karaoke, alongside his loving partner, Suze Matz.

Rick had a great love for sport from golfing, where he claims to be the single digit handicap, to football which was his greater passion not only here in the United States but England where his number 55 jersey now sits retired.

Not only was he a great friend he was also a loving dad who passed on his humor and his love of life to his two daughters.

Memorial Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Olivet Boys & Girls Club of Reading, 328 Walnut Street, Reading, PA 19601 in memory of Mr. Richard A. Rotondo.

My prayers go to Rick's family. He was an awesome football player. Great guy. Rest now.
