Christopher Mazza - Class Of 1977

 

 

Christopher R. Mazza, 58, of Kenhorst, died June 4, 2016 at 8:15 p.m. in the Reading Hospital. He was the loving husband of Pamela J. (Natale) Mazza. They would have celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary in October. Born in Reading, he was a son of Marguerite (Davy) Mazza, of Shillington and the late Dr. Patrick A. Mazza. He worked as an RN at Wernersville State Hospital for several years. He had previously worked at Agere as a Process Analyst and also in their Maintenance department. He was a member of St John Baptist de LaSalle R.C. Church, Shillington. He graduated from Beckett Academy, first in his class and was also a graduate of Holy Name High School, Lincoln Tech and the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. While at Wernersville State Hospital, he served as their union representative and while at Agere, he served on their fire brigade. He was known for being an excellent referee for Water Polo and loved all the Philadelphia sports teams. He had a quick wit, an infectious smile and had a natural gift for making people laugh. He enjoyed nature, hiking and camping but was proudest of his family. He loved spending time with his entire family, especially his grandson. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Alexander C. Mazza, Sarah E. Mazza, Kenhorst; and his grandson, Anthony Joseph Mazza. He is also survived by his siblings and their children: Patrick A. Mazza, Seattle, Wash., and his daughter, Erika Mazza-Smith; James P., husband of Kathryn Mazza, Conestoga Valley, and their daughter, KatieBea Mazza; and Marybeth Mazza-Box, wife of John Box, Atlanta, Georgia. Friends may call Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Private Interment in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.
