Missions
The Community Presbyterian Church Mission Team provides leadership for our church family in manifesting God's love as shown in the life of Jesus by identifying and responding to special needs in and beyond Redmond through work parties, special projects, and our on-going commitments of time, talent, financial support, compassion, prayer and faithful service to God.
Projects supported by Community Presbyterian Church:
Adopt-A-School Program
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate)
The CASA volunteer is a trained volunteer who becomes a trusted adult empowered to ensure that each foster-care child is well cared for in a safe, loving, permanent home.
Central Oregon Chaplaincy
The Central Oregon Policy Chaplaincy is a Biblically-based, non-profit ministry that exists to serve and support all law enforcement and emergency service personnel and their families within Central Oregon.
COPY (Central Oregon Partnership for Youth)
This mission connects safe and appropriate adult mentors with children who have an incarcerated parent/caregiver. Mentors commit to spending a few hours per week with a child for a minimum of one year.
FISH (Friends In Service to Humanity)
This program helps those in the Redmond area who have emergency food needs. The food is donated by churches and individuals in the community as well as the Boy Scouts and United Way. Redmond Christian Church provides the house for FISH food distribution and the deacons transport all donations from CPC to the shelves of the FISH house.
Grooming Aids
This mission collects soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, wipes and hair products for distribution to the Redmond School district for those students in need, as well as providing grooming aids to the homeless in Redmond and for Grandma's House in Bend.
Habitat for Humanity
The third home was completed in 2016. Not only do many of our members work on the houses, but also many CPC volunteers are on the Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors.
Jericho Road
This program provides transitional housing and assists local families with financial, emotional, and educational support.
Jericho Table
Our volunteers serve the meals one day every other month and also provide leadership for Jericho Table. We contributed funds to provide approximately 1700 meals in 2016 for the hungry in our community.
Meals on Wheels
Members of the congregation deliver meals to people 60 and over that are homebound and unable to cook or shop for themselves.
REACH (Redmond*Experience*Activity*Connections*Hub)
We support after-school care for community children which includes helping children with homework.
Redmond Cold Weather Housing Project
Shepherd's House staffs the sleeping quarters for people without homes at various churches when the outside temperature is below freezing from October through March.
