I posted something on my Facebook page, but know there are some people that aren't on there. Who would be up to a get together? The last time we got together at JP Edward's in Burnham, but would like to know if there would be other places you'd like to go.

Hey everyone, sorry it's been a while since I've checked here - I didn't even realize anybody had posted lately.

Lynnette - I think the girl in the pictures you mentioned was even in some of the later ones, and she does look awfully familiar. If I remember I'll definitely post it.

Herbie - I'm down for another get-together - I really hated missing the last one, so yeah, if another one is done, I'll do my best to attend.

Angie - good luck with the house! I know it's a rough market right now but hopefully you'll find an interested buyer soon.

Take care everyone!
Henry

Henry-I think we might be looking at Friday April 23 for a get together. I just posted on Facebook to see if it's a go (some people could do that day and some had conflicts--someone will let you know).

Yep- Friday, April 23 at 6:00 at JP's. Let's hope for good weather and we can sit on the deck!

I know it has been a while since I have posted on here. I've pretty much been paying attention to Facebook since most people seemed to have joined there as well. I'll have to be sure to keep checking in from time to time.

Anyway, my family and I will be making a trip to PA this weekend. It will be our first trip up there in about 2+ years. As is custom with our trips there, we will be eating dinner at the OIP Saturday evening (Burnham or Milroy location hasn't been decided yet). If anyone would like to meet up we would be more than happy to have the company.

If you are interested and want to keep in touch as we finalize our plans, you can send me an email at waltersw@eatel.net. My cell phone is 225-247-4213 if anyone would need to call me. We are leaving Thursday afternoon to drive up. Hopefully, we will be arriving in PA Friday afternoon.

Well, unfortunately I can't do the 23rd because I work that weekend (I have to work every other one). Also, as I'm on daylight right now I won't even get done at work until 6pm, so by the time I'd get to Burnham it would be close to 7:30 and I'd have to get up for work at 4am on Saturday morning.

That said, however, I am off on the weekend of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th, so I *can* do the OIP thing and plan to be there on the 3rd. Any other takers?

Hello everyone, it has been awhile since I have had time to check in with the site. I was going back through the messages here in the forum, and a name comes to mind with Lynnette's mystery classmate.  I am thinking, Amy Kauffman?? She actually moved then and was going to Huntingdon High School. Not sure if I am correct or not, just who came to mind.

Hope everyone is doing well. Take care, Holly

Thought I would post an update since I got a notification I haven't been on in something like 6 months. I started a new job in May with a local MR provider where I oversee the day staff that run group homes in the Huntington, Mifflin and Juniata county areas. It's different than what I did with SAM, Inc., but I'm still working with Individuals with Developmental Disabilities. I'm still holding out hope for a permanent position at the hospital, and there is a possibility something might happen this year. We just spent a week in the Assateague Island area and I just posted new pics.

Who's up for a get together some time at JP's or another place? It's been awhile and it would be nice to see everyone again. Herbie

Wow...talk about not posting anything for a while...as far as a get-together goes, that would be okay with me...just let me know when.

Take care - Henry

How does a 40th birthday party for everyone and a celebration of Angie's last treatment sound?  Give me ideas for when and where.

I'm good pretty much any evening. Weekends depend on my schedule at the hospital (for how long I would be able to "stay out and play" :-) ). I wouldn't mind JP's but we could also try the Hammer Mill. Angie-do you want me to post something on FB for the people that don't use this sight anymore?

Okay, I've determined we are lame(don't worry, that includes me!!!!) Look at the date here! We have not kept up well with this site!!! We still have missing classmates! Poor Ang has updated her pics at least and kept up, but not us!!!!,...and Herbie has too...great pics you all, but the rest of us..well, we need to get on the ball. (cough cough, no I won't be adding pics at the moment bc I'm supposed to be actually doing something else at the moment but came here instead of facebook!!!!!) Some of us even need to add new kids to their info update (BILL)...ok, you all get on the ball..myself included! No, I don't know when I'm coming north! My house is freezing today with 68* inside while it is 70* outside, and so I threatened that I'm going to move to Hawaii. : )

Henry, good luck with school! I'm pulling hair out over the class combo I have at the moment. I have to drive over an hour too for it all.

It seems facebook takes priorty over this class site. I am going to try and check out the site once a week and post something each week. It would be nice for us all to try and do that. Our lifes are busy but I think a few minutes once a week to check out the site is not that hard. This is my post for this week.

My update: I will be going back to Venezuela to visit. I will be leaving on black friday which is Nov. 26th and will be returning on Dec. 6th. The main purpose of the trip is to see my two best friends in Venezuela (Jose and Daniela) get married on Dec. 4th. They asked me to be part of the wedding and I could not refuse. I was able to save enough money for the trip, air fare is expensive, cost of the air fare almost $1300 wow. I have some bible lessons I hope I get to teach the week I am there. The lesson is a four part series about Seeing God.

Some plans I would like to do in 2011 is go to Germany because I have wanted to visit there since 9th grade. I have been saving sky miles so the trip will not cost that much. I should have enough by the summer of 2011. I have plans to visit PA again sometime in 2011 and I will let you know before I would come to PA. I would like to attend the 40 year old celebration but since I am going to Venezuela I have no money left to visit PA for the holidays this year. I hope those who attend have a great time.

Lynnette thanks for pushing us to start checking out this site more often. This is my attempt to stay in touch this way also. Still will do a lot of things on facebook but this is my commitment to help out our class site. Take care and hope to see some of you in 2011.

Please send your prayers to Henry.  His father passed away this week.

Okay, I'm definitely becoming lax on posting stuff here...

First off, thanks to Angie B. and everyone else who gave their condolences regarding my dad...it's been a rough time, to be sure, but it's nice to have the support of friends and family right now.

Next, I know that this is definitely a busy time of year but since I'm betting many of us will be back in Mifflin County at some point to visit family, I figured I'd see if there might be a bigger reception to having a get-together sometime this month.  I will actually be flying to Florida on the 22nd to spend the holidays with my sister, but even if something is arranged after I'm gone, I suspect it will only serve to add to the camaraderie of the holiday season.  That said, maybe the 17th or 18th, or later...any takers?

Have a good weekend everyone! - Henry

Well, seems that 2010 definitely saw its shares of ups and downs, and I think I'm pretty safe in saying that didn't just apply to me...in view of that, however, I personally intend to try to make this year a better one.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year (a couple weeks late) to those of you who don't have FaceBook. Just wanted to give an update on my physical health.

I had a mole that developed about a year and a half ago along my jaw that changed shape and got darker as it grew. I've had moles my whole life but I had several people tell me I needed to get it checked. When I finally got my insurance back from changing jobs last May, it took me a couple of months to get an appointment with a Dermatologist (12/15), where they removed 2 moles. The dark one turned out to be Melanoma and he contacted me the Tuesday before Christmas saying he was going to forward the information to Oncology at Danville. They called me back within 2 hours and I thought I was going on that Thursday but they got their days mixed up. When I saw the surgeon on 12/27, he told me the Melanoma was only 0.67mm thick, which is good (less than 1mm is considered mild), but the growth rate was on the borderline of what they consider to be at risk for further involvement. The plan was to remove a larger area around where they did the orginal biopsy to make sure there wasn't any further skin involvement then inject a dye and radioactive material to highlight the lymph nodes and do a biopsy to make sure the Melanoma didn't metasisize. I had all of this done on Friday 1/14 at Geisinger in Danville. The surgeon said with the thinkness of the mole, there is usually a 2% chance it has spread, but with the growth rate, it increases to about 10%. I'm hoping and praying they got everything with the original biopsy and that the surgery will just be precautionary.

Take care,
Herbie

Heard from the surgeon at Geisinger today. No further skin or lymph node involvement!!!! Will have follow up with him on Tuesday then see him again in 3, 6 and possibly 12 months. Will also have regular follow up with Dermatology to track current moles.

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to see if anyone has any questions about the reunion for those who aren't on the Facebook page.  I've had some emails come back to me, so if you could update your email address on this site, I would appreciate it!

Thanks!
