Ok folks. That's one canoe down. 2 more to go. And I also have a Kayak for someone that would like to use it. Email me and let me know if you want one. Jarrod... Your going, right? Also, We are floating on the James river and if I run out of boats you can rent from Hootentown canoe rental. Cheap and they shuttle. Krissy needs a partner, Who's up for sitting in the front and relaxing?

You just let me know if you can make it. Very cool for you on your trip. I could do some of that myself. I'm still a hardcore 80's rocker, lol but I do likes me some Bluegrass. You just can't be angry or in a bad mood listening to it.

Holy COW I just saw Abbey Crippen. That's a name I haven't heard in a while. HOW ARE YA ABBEY?

Debbie,

I'll have to make sure my husband meets you & you can discuss bluegrass until you are both blue in the face. He spent a huge amount of time at Silver Dollar City this year during their festival. He claims he just loves the music, but personally, I think he's got a crush on Rhonda Vincent (7 time IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year).

Have fun in Nashville!

Well can't say that I blame him.

Didn't mean to just shut the board down on that note. LOL Hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm gonna spend it practicing my dancing.

(TIP: It starts getting good at the 1:30 mark)

Krissi (Aka "Kristein") King

Hello, all.
Three things:
1. Friday. Is anything planned? and if not, anybody interested in an informal get-together, possibly dt springfield?
2. Canoeing. I'm looking for a paddling partner for Sunday
3. Hotels. For those traveling...is there a hotel of choice?
Would love to hear from someone on any or all!
See you soon,
K

1)Don't know about Friday.

2) surely someone will be your partner.

3) There is a hotel in Republic called the AmericInn. The phone # is 417-732-5335. If several out of towners were to book a room I'm sure they would discount and even put " Welcome Republic class of 1984"

Hi All,

Informally...
1) There is a bar in Republic now. It's in the shopping center next to Republic Ford. Can someone tell us the name of it.
2) Good luck. Find someone that will do all the work so you can relax and tan.
3) I didn't setup a host hotel but I would suggest the Clarion Hotel on South Glenstone. The rooms are nice but no elevator(only 2 floors). They also have a nice bar. If you find one post it out here so everyone can stay at the same location.

The American Inn wants everything quiet at 10:00PM sharp. When I talked to them about having the reunion there they told me that we had to be done by 10:00 because of their quiet time.

I hope this helps.

The bar i called Rileys I think. only been there once, good food. And as for Americinn, they suck.

07/21/09 07:52 PM #126

Gary Fortney

It's getting close. Still have a canoe that needs to be filled. Me and Krissi both need partners. Anyone?

07/24/09 01:00 AM #127

Greg Hargis

OK, as for Friday....

1) Yes, the bar is called Riley's.

Gary you may remember my buddy Dave who went floating with us and lives just down the street from Jared? Riley went to Kickapoo and graduated with Dave. They have a good fish fry on Friday's, for what that is worth.

2) Hargrove asked me several month's ago about planning a hotel home base for out of towners. He hasn't gotten back with me recently. I'd push for and most likely will stay at University Plaza.

3) Krissi, especially if I'm staying downtown, I'd recommend a get together at the baseball park, Hammonds Field. (which is right across the street from University Plaza) The Springfield Cardinals baseball game is at about 7 pm, then we could even be within walking distance of the square or other Downtown Springfield locations.

Just my more than 2 cents worth! ;>

OK Change of plans folks. If there is anyone left here. Meeting at the DQ for the float at 10am. That's 10 in the morning. 9 in the am is too early for some and I'm sire I would be a little cranky myself. So If you want to go, we are meeting at Dairy Queen at 10 am. I have 1 canoe left.

Yreka Koger (Sisson)

Still here. Unfortunately I won't be able to make the reunion after all. Please take lots of photos and post them here so we can enjoy it from afar.

Thanks to everyone (TRACEY!) who has put so much time and effort into making this reunion a success. It's been a while since the sponsors page has been updated but I know/hope there has been a lot of support.

Gary, swear to God I will take you up on your generous offer to go floating before too much longer.

Best wishes to all - have fun!!

Do you know how many times I hear that? It's too bad you can't make it. Must have been my bad grammar and even worse typing. We will see each other again. Maybe in another 25. Have a great life.

07/28/09 11:35 PM #131

Tracey Cavener (Byers)

Can someone check the name of the bar? Kellie thought it was calles 'Bairs Bar and Grill'. I won't know until I get there on the 7th. Let's try to meet there about 8:00PM The reunion will be here before we know it. Thanks everyone.

It used to be Bair's It is just outside of town on the east side by Republic Ford

Tracey Cavener (Byers)

Thanks Gary. Remember when the only bar in Republic was Bimbo's off 174. Republic has changed so much. On east Hines it was farm land but now it's all houses.

Gary Fortney

Do I remember Bimbo's I grew up in there. My mom was a bartender. Oh such loving memories, drinks, winos, and of course the stabbing. GOOD TIMES!!!
