Melissa "Missy" Monique Johnson Boeser, age 39.  Beautiful and Beloved Wife, Mommy, Daughter, Friend, Church Cantor, and Choir Soprano, Songstress, Princess, Goddess.  Melissa passed into eternity surounded by friends and family on August 15, 2001 after suffering sudden pulmonary failure August 10th.  She follows her mother, Dianne Barbara Johnson who passed away this same year.

Melissa is survived by her husband, Mark; beloved children, Sonya and David; her father, Mark N. Johnson, grandmother, Ruth Johnson; aunt, Rita (Rick) Moe; ucles, Frank Emerson, Eugene Pertler and Frederick (Sharon) Petler.  Cousins, Erik Moe, Alex Moe, Fred E. Pertler, Mike (Kim) Pelter, and John (Brenda) Pertler.  Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rodney and Sue Boeser.  Sisters-in-law, Shawn Boeser and Greta Gaard; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Todd and Michelle Boeser and many, many other relatives and special friends.

She worked her way through college as a Country Kitchen Waitress and then as a Customer Service Representative for F&M Marquette Bank and graduated from the U of M Carlson School of Management with a major in International Marketing and a Minor in German.  Missy has been a cantor at the Church of the Assumption in Richfield for over 15 years.  She was a soprano in the Assumption Choir.  In 1988 she joined the new Archdiocesan Choir at the Cathedral of St. Paul and traveled with them in November of 1999 to Rome where they sang for the Pope at St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican.  On this same trip, she was cantor for a mass in the chapel of St. Thomas in Assisi, Italy.  Missy was a past president of the Assumption Council of Christian Women and a board member of the ACCW Minneapolis Deanery.

Missy enjoyed life to its fullest-taking care of her children, Sonya and David, spending speical times with her husband Mark, chatting with her girlfriends.  She lived and breathed music through singing and listening to many kinds of music.  She cherished beautiful and fun vacations and travel with family and friends.  She had a blast fantasy gaming with friends and planning lovely parties and gatherings.  She believed deeply in charity and service to church and community.  She had great times working and playing with her co-workers at Mesaba Airlines.  There were exciting times as a vocalist and backup singer in the BORN band.  She loved the fragrance of flowers - expecially lavender roses.  Missy was full of playfullness and mischief, loving and bringing love to our lives.  She will be missed teribly by everyone touched by her special gifts.  Words to describe Missy:  Free, Wild Fresh, Verdant, Vivacious, Brilliant, Loving Honey-Sweet, a Wellspring of Inspiration.
