What a wonderful 50th reunion weekend we had!! From making a float Thursday night, to being in the Homecoming parade Friday, being recognized by the school during the football game and having a 3-4 minute slideshow with pictures from our past on the big board, then heading to Stacey and Tim's house for a really nice bonfire and tons to eat! Up Saturday morniing for breakfast at Roxie's for some, and golf for others. Pickleballers had a great early afternoon too. The main event happened without a hitch. Everyone was happy and joyful and just glad to be there. The raffle to raise money for the Gateway Academy scholarship went sooooo great. Every ticket was sold and the winners left with either a GL shirt and hat, or a bottle of wine made by our own Matt Kollig and two accompanying wine glasses! Success!! (And remember you can donate to Gateway anytime over the next 6 months or so! Get in touch with Stacey with any questions) Anyway, on Sunday morning at 10:30, a large group of people met at our old high school, which is now the middle school, and were given a tour of it, and also OUR old middle school on 40th Street, by the Supt. Chris Rundle. And yes, the old pictures are still hanging on what's left of the walls!! After the tours most of us headed over the The Dock at Bayview for our last gathering. We could not believe how many people showed up. At least 40! We were there for hours.
We keep saying our class is the best. Well it's TRUE! This past weekend is testament to that statement. It sounds corny, but so much love is felt when we're together. Or at least a lot of like! For sure we'll be planning another reunion for 2030 (OMG!!), but you may hear from us before then. Someone mentioned something about a picnic or bonfire or a simple gathering in between our 5 years. We shall see.
We've got a lot of pictures to post, but they have to get organized first! Keep checking and they'll be up on this site soon!!
Peace and love to every one of you!
