Larry Carpico

CARPICO, Larry D., age 49, of Mt. Lebanon, Pa., died tragically on Saturday evening, Aug. 13, 2011.

He is survived by three precious gems: his beloved wife, Bronwynne M. (Bailey) Carpico and the blessings of their union, Cait Elizabeth and Darden Kent Carpico.

He is a son of Cynthia M. and the late Egidio Carpico; brother of Joseph F. (Trish), John P. (Susan) and Peter J. (Stephanie) Carpico; brother in law of Melissa (Glen) Moriarty, Arminda Bailey (Ken) Boyne, Heather (Thomas) Kelm and Armin Bailey, Jr. (Victoria); uncle of Marisa, Elisabeth, Anthony, Hayley, Brandon, James Jonathan, Deirdre, Deonna, Trent, Jacob, Izobella, Armin, Luke, Hannah, Taylor and Brock; and great-uncle of Zane. Growing up in Bloomingdale, Ohio.

Larry graduated from Jefferson Union High School and was active in the local 4H Club handling goats. He was a proud Army veteran serving four years in field artillery. Larry went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Kent State University in 1986. As an Allegheny County Detective for over 20 years, he received numerous awards and citations including a 2003 Lead Award for outstanding performance in Law Enforcement; a 2007 Commendatory Plaque from the House of Representatives and Honorable Tim Murphy; and a 2007 Mt. Lebanon Police Department Chief's Award. His passions were hiking, kayaking, biking, gaming and walking his dog Strider who he rescued from the North Shore Shelter.

Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Memorial Chapel, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Services and interment will be private. If desired, memorials may be made to the Carpico Children's College Fund, or the Western PA Humane Society North Shore Shelter either c/o of Huntington Bank in memory of Lawrence Carpico.
