Elizabeth Ann Clark (Betsy)

New Kent - Elizabeth Ann Clark (Betsy) of New Kent, VA, passed away November 26, 2012. She is survived by her father, brother, and husband of 41 years. She was a career elementary school teacher who not only taught her students their lessons but inspired them to love learning. She was an avid gardener, a master seamstress, and a creative artist. She was always fashionably dressed in classical hats, garments, and jewelry. All that had the good fortune to meet and know her remember her roar of laughter, which was not only unique but sincere. She will be missed by all and now is in the hands of God.

I'd lke to thank Jean Thill for getting this information to me.

I think I met Betsy on our first day of school at Highland Park Elementary School way back in 1956; I remember being very shy and anxious about that first day and I simply remember a smile or some recognition from her that gave this little five year old a bit of encouragement..  I suspect she did that with lots of children she helped to shape and mold over the years.  Blessed rest to her now.

Betsy Flanagan, the sweetest, kindest, nicest person... I remember her smile, her laughter.  With her warmth and her sweet voice, her gentle manner, she must have been loved by her students.  Earth has lost an angel and heaven has claimed her.  Bette Ramos

I too remember that wonderful smile and laugh. Her mom was the same way. She was always a friend to everyone. May she rest in peace.

Betsy and I were good friends for a while, maybe at Chandler. She was friendly and did not seem to have negative feelings toward anyone. She had a crisp walk and was easy going. I liked her a lot.
