Sharon Sesler (Foster)

FOSTER, Sharon Lynn Sesler, age 57, of Simi Valley, CA, formerly of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on February 9, 2008. On December 13, 2007, Sharon was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer and she and her husband made the decision to return to the Richmond area to live with one of her sisters so she could be near her family and close friends as she lived her remaining weeks. Sharon's last Christmas was spent surrounded by her loving family and friends reminiscing about her childhood in Richmond and "the good old days." Sharon is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Foster of Simi Valley, CA; her daughter, Shannon F. Polt and her husband, Mike; and her first grandchild, five-month-old, Gage Alexander Polt, all of Charleston, SC. She is also survived by her mother, Virginia F. Sesler; her three sisters, Jean S. Pauley of Forest, VA, Pat S. Wright (Steve) of Mechanicsville, VA, and Sue S. Tiller (David) of Bel Air, MD; her mother and father-in-law, Lois and Clarence Foster of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; her sisters-in-law, Susan Johnson (Ken) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Peg Fritz (Paul) of Toledo, OH; many nieces and nephews; her childhood friends, Joyce King Jennings and Mary Eubanks Williams; and her precious pets, Binky and Abby. Graveside services will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the home of Steve and Pat Wright immediately after the service for a time of fellowship and reminiscing. In honor of her love of animals, Sharon's request is that you make a donation to the pet charity of your choice.

I still remember that laugh. Sharon and I stopped by her grave at Christmas. It was cold as heck that day too..

I visited Sharon with Mary Eubank Williams on 1-8-08 at Henrico Doctor's Hospital. I am so glad that I got to see her and talk with her one last time. She still had her crazy sense of humor and made me laugh at a time when she was so sick. God, please take care of her in heaven, and please take care of her family here on earth. Sharon, your classmates from Jayem love you.

So sorry to hear. Was looking forward to seeing her at the reunion. Didn't know she was ill. It was great fun and had great memories of choir days and Gilbert and Sullivan with Sharon and her sister Pat. How selfish it would be to wish you here with us when you have eternity with Jesus. Still miss you, though.

I remember going to Third Ave Baptist Church with Sharon and her 2 sisters Pat & Susan. She was a fun person!
