James E. Snead, III

SNEAD, James Edwin III, 60, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Talley Snead; mother, Kathleen Bonner Snead; children, Melanie Snead McKloskey (Michael) of Baltimore, Md., Kimberly Snead-Neuner (CJ) of Richmond; grandchildren, Eleanor Paige McKloskey and Charlotte Laine McKloskey. He also leaves his two beloved labs, Lily and Maggie, who will greatly miss him. Jim was preceded in death by his father, James Edwin Snead Jr.; and his brother, Terry Wayne Snead. Jim attended John Marshall High School where he met Carolyn, and they had been sweethearts since. Jim was a 1972 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and later served his country and was honorably discharged as Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve. Jim and Carolyn married in July 1972. Jim dearly loved and was loved by his family. He will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. Jim's funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Ginter Park United Methodist Church, 1010 W. Laburnum Ave., Richmond. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
