Emmett W. Kavanaugh of Powhatan, lovingly remembered as a devoted husband and father, died December 5, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Martha W. Kavanaugh; one son, Mason Andrew Kavanaugh; two stepdaughters, Paul Cole and Nicole Meadows, all of Powhatan; his father, Richard S. Kavanaugh Sr.; one brother, Richard S. Kavanaugh Jr.; two sisters, Mary Kathleen Lohr and Lucille Ann Matthews, all of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Bauer Kavanaugh; and his grandparents, E.W. and Liticia Stokes Kavanaugh. Mr. Kavanaugh was a 14 year member of NA.
