Manfred Stemmer Block
Manfred Stemmer Block, 54, died Thursday, January 11, 2007. He was a native of Richmond, Virginia and a resident of Norfolk since 1989. Fred was an attorney with Norfolk Southern Corporation for nearly three decades, having received his J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School and his bachelors degree from Northwestern University. Survivors: Fred is survived by his wife of 17 years, Donna Bausch; sister, Marguerite Maucher, wife of Michael Maucher; nephew, Scott Maucher; niece, Katherine Maucher, all of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Fred M. and Erica Stemmer Block. Services: The family will receive friends in the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2007. Interment will be in Pennsylvania. Online condolences may be sent to the family at: www.hdoliver.com. Deceased in around 2003 or so. Had been in contact with him until then, when he was lawyer with Norfolk Southern in Richmond.
Ken Brockenbrough, Jr
I first me Freddy in fourth grade at Tuckahoe Elementary. My fondest memory of him is of his quirky sense of humor. Freddy and I would have our own little private conversations behind teacher's back, usually at the teacher's expense. Rest well young man!
