Vernon was such a good friend. We bonded in JHS with our love of baseball. We lost touch until the 20th reunion - he came from CA for it - and of course, we spent a lot of our time there talking about his Giants. We then reconnected through Facebook. He was a die-hard liberal but never let that stop him from enjoying old, more conservative friends. We attended Squirrels' games together on his visits to Richmond in '16 and '17. I miss him.
