Miss Monique Jeanne Isabelle Kato, 73, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on August 24, 2022, in her home. Monique was born at Walter Reed General Hospital in Washington, D.C. on May 15, 1949, daughter of the late Matt Kato Sr. and Simone Kato. Left to cherish her memory are her former husband, Douglas Wilding; son, Joseph Wilding (Jennie Bauer); and siblings, Franck Kato and Matt Kato Jr. Monique graduated from Hermitage High School in 1967 and spent the remainder of her life in the Richmond area. She was a loving mother and sibling and a lifelong lover of animals, particularly cats. She had a kind heart, and she will be missed dearly by all who loved her.
