I started NSU right after graduation and majored in Elementary and Special Education. This is my 18th year. I met my Michael when he came to our church to work with the youth. We were married 8 months later. I know I SWORE to never marry a preacher. Never say "never"! God knew what he was doing, we have been married for 23 years and are still going strong. We have 2 girls....poor Mike...he's sooo outnumbered. :)
Kayla and Megan are my life. They keep me busy! Kayla is a junior at LSU and my Megan is a senior and the cheer captain at Winnfield Senior High. I'm not ready for the empty nest but it's on it's way quickly.
We have lived in Winnfield now for 19 years. We love it here...it's a great place to raise a family. I love being at the ballpark and knowing most of the children and families there. It's pretty cool to have the kids call my name...they are so cute...they think teachers are always at the school, and get so excited when they see you out and about.

My favorite memories are from working on the yearbook and participating in FHA! I don't think I ever got to sit and watch the football games....I was always working the concession stands. I really enjoyed my junior and senior years. I wish I had been more outgoing during high school. You miss so much when you sit on the sidelines and just watch! Lesson learned, I encourage my girls to participate in everything .... It's like getting to relive those school years all over again.

I'm teaching like I thought I would be....but I didn't go on to work on my Master's before I had my babies. Now I focus on technology and its uses in the classroom. Just got my Promethean System! LOVING IT!
I also had no idea how important my kids would be to me. I don't know what Mike and I would do without them.

Louisiana! I've visited Canada and several other states......But home is the best.

Sure! Just watch out for jelly fish....ouch! I prefer the pool at the condo.

No....just sing specials in Church. It was really hard to do...but once I got started it was hard to stop.

Uh huh! And Dr. Pepper really stings coming out that way.

Yep...at home until my daughters made me stop.

NOPE....Big Chicken....did get two piercings in my ears though. When my oldest was 5, I took her to get her ears done. She decided it would be best if I got mine done first so that she could make sure it didn't hurt that much. OUCH....it's so hard to hide the fact that it hurts.

Nope...no can do. Not me...uh uh....no way!

Nope....but I have my eye on one right now. We live on Dunn Avenue.....and one of the signs along our road says Dunn Street....gets on my nerves....Dunn Street isn't in the city limits...someone didn't know what they were doing!

A couple....I played chicken with a Natchitoches City Sanitation truck. He didn't yield to the right of way in an intersection....my little Datson didn't stand a chance. Then I rolled a Chevy Cavalier...it's easier than it sounds.....but it sure is hard getting out of the seat belt when you're hanging upside down in it.
I love seat belts......they are wonderful things!
