Hello, everyone. Thank you soooo much for the messages via Facebook and this forum. So far I have had most responses to either "it doesn't matter" or for the 17th. We are going to call and make sure now that the pavillion hasn't been booked for Saturday, Oct 17th (it wasn't originally). So pencil it in...I'll confirm. If it is we'll go with the 24th. Either way next week I will post on the Home Page and send out messages.

Okay all,

We got a week to get this to work. We need a head count. We need a food sign up list. I got the grill and took care of the reservations, so we're good there. I'll go the Sam's and get some burgers and dogs, if everyone will pitch in for them. We're gonna need drinks and condiments too. I have no idea about how to set it up on this web site, but is someone does it would be great.

We need a starting time too. I doubt we wanna stay til dark, so a late morning start is advised. How's about say, 11am til ...... All we got so far is a place and a day. There's a lot more we gotta get straight.

I am more than happy to help in anyway possible, but I am unable to head this up.

O.K. everybody, who wants to bring what? Maybe each person/family could be responsible for their own drinks, we'll all pitch in $$ for the food and people can tell us what they are bringing as far as the condiments. I'd say we would need:

Mustard
Ketchup
Relish
Chips
Lettuce
Tomato
Sliced cheese
Plates and Napkins
Desserts(brownies, cookies, etc.)

Can anyone think of anything else? It's been 20 years since I've been to Cypress Lake, can someone give me directions? I'm driving up from Lafayette that morning.

Melissa Salter (Akers) I plan on making potato salad, It feeds the Salter clan. Not sure on how many folks were planning on coming, but i'm sure everybody doesn't eat it, so it probably will be plenty. Also, I agree, if every family brings a 2 liter drink or iced down drinks that will be easy enough to cover.

Ben Wimberly I have your ass (buns) covered!! Ben and I will get the buns. Drinks should be BYOB! To be on the safe side, I think each family should bring a bag of chips. Those who feel overzealous can contribute dessert and paper goods. If you want to go ahead and stake a claim on an item, speak up! Don't be shy!

Heather Evans (McFarlain) I'm coming to the reunion solo. Lee can't make it and the kids wanted to see my mom instead of a bunch of old people they don't know. LOL! I'll bring chips and cookies or brownies or something sweet. Since I'm not sure what time I will be there, I'm not volunteering to bring the paper goods. Hopefully, I can make it by noon. See you Saturday!!

Taiten Salter so thats: Tait Melissa Erica Tammy Heather Ben & Reba and maybe Allyson......confirmed anyone else? I see a lot of maybe's posted a month ago. I hate that 70 people graduated with us and only a handful or two wanna participate. Maybe we should go out for dinner at a nice place? Suggestions?

I agree, we are adults and I hate to be the ugly one, here..think what you want. but. I know it is not fancy but Tait has volunteered to go & buy meat and just asked for a head count. About a month or so ago, we were looking at around 20ish at least folks showing. now less than 10 responding. If this is a no go then I don't want him to be out money, then gas driving out there, bringing the grill, just a hassle. we need to know if anyone else is coming or for the folks who are responding, we just need to forget the reunion and just a bunch of old friends get together. Please post today by 6pm or call me at 318-218-8394.

I sincerely appreciate the efforts and contributions from some some of our classmates, You know who you are. It has been nice talking to you, the emails and getting updates on the website. Thanks much to Ben for putting together website, I know you put a lot of time into it. However, Due to lack of response & confirmation of attendance, the reunion is being canceled. There are a few of us old friends getting together for a bite to eat if interested. I see the one thing we did learn at good old RHS was common courtesy...

I'm so sorry that I didn't make it until the last second but was really glad to see each of you. My daughter said, "The lady in blue was really cool", referring to of course, Tammy! I replied, "Of course she was, don't you know that mom only hung out with cool peeps", HELLO...Then I had to throw in, "You know she as Miss RHS"!!

And on a more serious note, I do want to more formally apologize if I haven't already to Heather. She drove around at Cypress over a half hour looking for us, she didn't know the event was canceled. She'd left her home in TX and didn't receive the emails, I didn't have her phone #. She made a special trip, lots of driving, time and extra expense involved. I'm sorry and lesson learned. Although the internet is great, we do still need phone numbers for such situations!

and for the record, so much for small town hospitality in this busy world...At our nice quaint get together, Chad & I haven't seen each other since graduation til now, just to find out that we live on the same street IN HAUGHTON, LOUISIANA. I've lived there for 11 years and he has for 8. Never seen him in passing, at the grocery store, at the convenient store, nothing...wow!
