Information taken from a public newspaper obituary dated August 29, 1996:

Mr. Sowell died of a heart attack in June Lake, California.

Mr. Sowell, a native of Spartanburg, S.C. lived in Riverside 26 years before moving to Palm Desert 11 years ago.  He graduated from Ramona High School in Riverside in 1972 and attended Riverside Community College.

He worked in the auto retail industry for 20 years and was vice president of Indio Chrysler Chevrolet for 11 years.
