Lawrence Lynwood (Larry) Toms II, 58, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Larry is preceded in death by his sister, Lea Toms Martin. He is survived by his parents, Lawrence Lynwood and Mabel Toms; son, Zackery William Toms (Amy and Tyler); grandson, William Mitchell Toms all of Florida; nephew, Jason Garrett (Amanda) and children Addison Lea and Austin Carey of Knoxville, Tenn; brother-in-law, Micheal Martin of Roanoke; two uncles and aunts; one great-uncle and great-aunt; "adopted" family, Peggy, Earnie, Kyle and Michelah King; a special lifelong friend, Darlene Jones Oakes and Don; and many more friends and family. In lieu of flowers or donations, Larry asked that family and friends plant a tree or a rose in his memory, so that they may see God's beauty. There will be no services per Larry's request. If friends or family wish to visit the family they may do so Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 2 to 4 p.m. at 5340 Cooper Street, Roanoke, VA 24019.
