Jerry Dillard Hughes  8/23/1952 - 2/18/2022
 

Jerry Dillard Hughes, 69, of Rock Hill, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2022, at Hospice of Cleveland County, surrounded by his children.

He was born August 23, 1952, in Newport News, Virginia, oldest son of the late Sue Ann Owens and James Odell Hughes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Hughes.

Jerry served our nation as a member of the Air Force and was proud to be an American.

He was known around the Rock Hill area as being at the Redneck Country Club (Waffle House), and he spent a lot of time at Strikers Family Sportscenter Bowling Alley. He enjoyed his animals, plants, being a pawpaw, rescuing dogs, and helping out families.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, James Hughes and wife Amber, Jessica Hughes; grandchildren, Autumn Queen, Jaxon Queen, Isis Hughes, and Wynter Hughes; brothers, Eddie Hughes, Dale Hughes, Steve Hughes, Mike Robinson, Vander Robinson; and sister, Rita Davis.

A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Larry Williams, will be held 5:00 PM on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Faith Family Christian Center, 3483 Homestead Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29732.
